Roxette - Pearls Of Passion (1986) Flac

Roxette?s debut album, issued in late 1986, is a portrait of a band in its formative stages. Both Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson had previously pursued solo careers in their native Sweden, and Pearls of Passion was the band's attempt at international stardom. It was preceded in the summer by a very '80s pop single called "Everlasting Love," which became the band's first bonafide hit...at least within Sweden. When the album was released later that year, things were much the same; while the album was a hit in Sweden, the rest of the world failed to pay much attention at all. And listening to the album, it's not that hard to tell why: nothing here is bad, but it lacks nearly all of the elements that made albums like Joyride and Look Sharp into massive hits just a few years later. Roxette's most intriguing qualities are that they are a pop band that can rock and that Gessle is a crack songwriter that almost never produces a bad tune. Here, however, there's a lot of dry material and a lot of undistinguishable dance-pop. Their trademark gritty guitars are completely absent, and what results is really only three great songs: "Soul Deep" (which was later re-recorded for Joyride, "Everlasting Love," and the magnificent "Secrets That She Keeps." The rest, however, is of significant interest only to serious fans. (A 1997 reissue of the album includes eight bonus tracks, new album packaging, and liner notes from Per Gessle himself.)

Roxette - Joyride (1991) Flac

One would be forgiven for thinking that a group which peaked ten years ago probably isn't all that good. However, when the peak is Joyride, it can easily be understood that it was a hard act to follow. While later efforts have proved almost as successful (especially 1994's Crash! Boom! Bang! and 2001's Room Service), nothing has yet managed to beat the thrashing guitars and catchy tunes of Joyride (1991). The singles are great, of course - Joyride, Fading Like A Flower (Every Time You Leave), (Do You Get) Excited? - but it is the other tracks which really carry this classy album: Keep On Knockin' On Every Door is as compelling as they come, with Perfect Day, the album's closing track, taking your breath away as Marie reaches every note pitch perfect - no mean feat given that this song ranges across three full octaves! This is, quite simply, a masterpiece, and nothing has yet come along to beat it, whether from Roxette or any other group. If you want the early 90s in a nutshell, look no further than Roxette's Joyride.

This album is the best. It´s the sound of a band that was working for 8 years that time ( 1994 ). Now they have another studio album "Have a nice day" that change a little their music. But, what can I say? This album is incredible! Strong material in poprock songs like "Harleys & Indians", "Lies" & the first single "Sleeping in my car". Good taste in balads like "Crash! Boom! Bang!", "Vulnerable" & "I´m sorry". Acoustic tracks recorded live in Capri Digital Studio, based in their incursion in the MTV Unplugged 1993: "The first girl on the moon" & "Place your love" A very great album that had sold 5 million copies around the world! Keep on roxing!

Roxette - Room Service (2001) Flac

Bridging the gap between Abba and The Cardigans, Roxette are the band that put Sweden back on the music map in the late 1980s and they return in 2001 with Room Service. Never hip but ever popular, the partnership of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle have turned out seven albums characterised by a chrome-plated FM rock sound, bubbly synths, breathy vocals and a lyrical fixation with the US.
