The school friends Paul (Rider Strong), Karen (Jordan Ladd), Bert (James DeBello), Marcy (Cerina Vincent) and Jeff (Joey Kern) rent an isolated cabin in the woods to spend a week together. When they arrive, a man contaminated with a weird disease asks for help to them, but they get in panic and kill the man, who drops dead in the water reservoir. When Karen drinks tap water and gets the disease, the group starts their journey to hell.
Top notch giallo from director Lamberto Bava. Film composer Bruno (Occhipinti) is working on the score for a new thriller and retreats to a huge secluded villa. But once there, a mysterious killer begins stalking various young women...and Bruno finds himself trapped in a confusing web of secrets. Can he decipher the whole mess before the madman reaches him? Originally created for Italian TV, this spunky slasher from director Bava is well made splatter buoyed by some efficient pacing and at least one merciless gore scene (the bathroom murder...ouch!). Handsome lead Occhipinti (also in Fulci's sleazy 1982 New York Ripper) delivers a decent performance and keeps his head above water as the terror level heightens. With echoes of tone faintly similar to Tenebre from Argento, Blade is an admirable horror effort worth seeking out.
A young man is released from an asylum and returns home for revenge on his aunt and her three daughters, who had him declared insane in order to steal his inheritance.
A fisherman and his family fight to take down a greedy real estate developer who has released toxins into the ocean, turning the area's sharks into bloodthirsty hunters
After losing her husband in a car wreck, our main character is stalked by a psychotic woman one night before giving birth to her baby... Many people have complained that this movie would have been much better if it weren't so violent but that's what makes it interesting. The movie is slow moving due to the fact that it takes place in a house and the blood keeps it interesting. You are constantly waiting for the next sucker to get it and see how it happens. Sure there's a twist, but it still wouldn't save the movie from being completely boring unless there were inventive deaths to shock and scare. It's really fun to see people's reaction to how badly this woman is beaten throughout the film.
Florinda Bolkan plays the daughter of a prominant English politician who keeps having recurring "nightmares" in which she makes love to a bisexual nympho who lives downstairs and conducts all-night LSD orgies. When the nocturnal wet dreams become murderous, the neighbor turns up dead, and Florinda is the main suspect. Did she actually commit the murder she dreamt about? Is she being framed by her philandering husband? Did Florinda actually make nightly visits downstairs aside from borrowing the occasional cup of sugar? How DID Florinda's letter opener end up stuck in the dead neighbor's chest anyway? The complex plot unfolds amidst red herrings, outlandish dream sequences, lesbian hanky panky, and ominous close-ups of Florinda Bolkan's guilt-ridden facial expressions every time someone mentions the murder. All this takes place in swinging late-1960's London.

Based on the short Stephen King horror story of the same name, 1408 surrounds supernatural writer Mike Enslin, an author of two hit books focusing on supernatural phenomena. As research for his latest book, Enslin is determined to check out the notorious room 1408 in a New York City hotel by personally staying as a guest in the fabled room. With the intention that 1408 is just a myth perpetuated by stories and rumor that Enslin has collected for his past works. However, hotel manager Mr. Olin has strong objections to Enslin's stay and only warns him of possible danger to come. But Enslin is determined to go through and convinced that the horrific past of 1408 is just mere coincidence and a myth. But what Mike Enslin is about to experience is no myth, as 1408 truly is a room where the guests don't check out by noon.

Albert Fish, the horrific true story of elderly cannibal, sadomasochist, and serial killer, who lured children to their deaths in Depression-era New York City. Distorting biblical tales, Albert Fish takes the themes of pain, torture, atonement and suffering literally as he preys on victims to torture and sacrifice. From John Borowski, award-winning director of H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer, comes the first ever docudrama to definitively recount the life and times of elderly cannibal Albert Fish. Adding insight to the account are interviews with artist and Odditorium owner, Joe Coleman, and renowned true-crime author, Katherine Ramsland, Ph.D.

Sadly this great often haunting B has all but disappeared and it is all the more unfortunate because it has the components of a immortal cult classic. Schoolgirls In Chains is the truly bizarre story of two brothers who kidnap and keep women locked in the cellar for the retarded brothers childishly sexual games. This very unusual film does beg comparision to Texas Chainsaw Massacre (with themes of cannibalism replaced with incest and necrophilia) and if for no other reason is significant for being one (among DeathDream, Blood and Lace and the later films of Hershell Gordon Lewis) of the darkest drive in films of the early 70s
